about how the contest will be conducted, including deadlines, late registration and performance requirements

Top 5 will compete at the national competition sponsored by Miss Amerinca Diamonds Pageant, September 4, 2016 at the St. Louis City Center Hotel.
Music Requirements:

Gospel Music Only
-
CD’s are the only recording media acceptable
-
Performance CD’s must be clearly marked with name, group, and song title

All music must be pre-edited to accommodate the routine time limit. Requests for stops, restarts, fade-outs, fast forwards, or speed controls are not allowed.

Please do not submit your only copy of music.

Performance must be at least 3 and no longer that 5 minutes in length

Music must be picked up immediately following the competition
Attire:
-
All participants must wear costumes that highlight the participants and the presentation in the best possible light.

Inappropriate clothing that suggests sexual, vulgar, or offensive behavior is unacceptable and will result in disqualification.

No belly shirts, below the belly button tops or bottoms, no sagging or underwear can be visible.
Routine/Performance:

Once selected, each participant/group is required to perform (1) routine displaying your creativity, artistry, technique and spirituality. Routines that suggest sexual, vulgar or offensive behavior is unacceptable.

Each routine must be between 3 and 5 minutes in length.

Timing will begin with the first note/word of music or movement from dancer and end with the last beat of music or movement from participant.

Participants must be at least 7 years of age as of February 2016.

Props. The use of dance props will be allowed during your presentation. A prop is defined as anything that you dance with that is not attached to your costume. No props with special effects e.g. steam, smoke, lighting machine can be used. All props must be carried on stage with you-you can set up when you enter to take your position on stage.

Master/Mistress of Ceremony (MC). The official MC will announce the next participant to the stage and manage the flow of the competition. Names of official finalists will be announced after the completion of the competition.

Interpretation. The Competition’s Organization Committee shall have the ultimate authority to interpret “Official Rules” for the Dance & Mime Competition and have the right to make any changes deemed necessary.

Registration Information All entries must be accompanied by payment in full. The Team must provide all requested information, including the Team’s name, the Team Representative’s name, address, phone number and email address. The Registration Form and packet will be available on the “Miss American Diamonds Pageant” website.

Complete Entries/Registration A complete entry/registration form will consist of: A complete Registration Form, dance roster, an original Release Form signed and any other material or information requested by the Competition’s Organization Committee. The Competition’s Organization Committee is not responsible for lost, late, or incomplete Entries/Registration Forms. Failure to timely submit an Entry/Registration may disqualify the Participant/Group from the Contest. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Judging/Criteria A panel of up to five competent judges consisting from varying backgrounds will be used. All judges for the competition agree to judge in an impartial manner. The categories that make up judging criteria for each participant/group are:

Competition: Participant/Group should arrive and be ready to perform approximately thirty minutes prior to the competition performance time. “The Miss American Diamonds Pageant, All Nations Christian Church and St. Paul Chapel AME Church” or its affiliates will not be responsible for any accident or injury that occurs during the course of the Praise Dance& Mime Competition. Neither are they responsible for property loss and by entering this competition, it is agreed that participants or spectators will not hold any of the Competition’s Organization Committee its affiliates, officers, directors, or staff responsible for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted while in attendance of this event. All Participant/Group (s) grant permission to “Miss American Diamonds Pageant” and their affiliates to use their names, photographs, or to appear on local television, brochures, flyers, and/or the “Miss American Diamonds Pageant” website for the future promotions or advertising.

Videotaping and photography is strictly prohibited during the competition. This also includes the dressing rooms and vestibule areas of the venue. Use of flash photography or videotaping could result in disqualification of the Participant/Group in question.

Judging Procedures: The judges for the event will be appointed at the sole discretion of the Competition’s Organization Committee. As the Participant/Group makes their presentations, the judges will score the team using either a 10 point system, per category. The judges’ scores will be AVERAGED together to determine the overall team score using a secondary tally group of judges. Only official printed forms obtained from the rules and regulations committee shall be used by all judges.

Sportsmanship: All participants agree to conduct themselves in a manner displaying good sportsmanship throughout the Praise Dance and Mime Competition with a positive presentation upon entry and exit from the performance area, as well as throughout the showcase and competition. The Team Representative is responsible for seeing that all members conduct themselves accordingly.

Disqualification: Any Participant/Group that does not adhere to the terms and procedures of the Official Rules and will be subject to disqualification from the competition and will automatically forfeits any right to any awards presented by the “Praise Dance & Mime Competition. “

Finality of Decisions: By participating in this competition, each team agrees that decision by the judges will be final and will not be subject for review. Each Participant/Group acknowledges the necessity for the judges to make prompt and fair decisions in this competition and each participant/group therefore, expressly waives any legal, equitable, administrative or procedural review of such decisions.

This contest may be cancelled or modified, in the sole discretion of the above mentioned sponsors in the event an insufficient number of eligible entries are received or by the discretion of its sponsors and its other entities.

In the event the “Praise Him” Praise Dance & Mime Competition is cancelled any fees collected will be refunded.

Competition Performance Release. On behalf of all Members, the Participant/Group Representative must agree to and sign an official Release Form. A copy of the Release Form can be found in this packet. In the Release Form, the Participant/Group Representative must represent that he/she has the authority to act on behalf of the Participant/Group and enter into the Release on behalf of all Members and bind all Members to the terms of the Release. At any time during the Competition, Participant/Group Members may be required to provide additional signed releases, as determined by the Competition’s Organization Committee or its affiliates.
